Robin Hood, saving the poor?
Stealing from the wicked rich and giving to the humble poor?
Not being afraid, but having a heart filled with courage!
Well, as I grew up I became fascinated with books and movies that supported such storyline. For the obvious reasons.
What makes people live a life of fear?
FEAR: Forefiting Everything And Running
The kind of fear that is no good, unproductive and cripples us. This fear that is built on lies from an enemy who seeks to steal from us, destroy and to kill us. This fear that robs us of our God-given vision.
Fear has been a constant companion most of my life. People doing the dirty work for the enemy of our soul, satan, have nurtured the anger in me and a fearful lifestyle.
Now I am not talking about this kind of fear:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Prov. 1:7
This kind of fear is the good kind!
This kind of fear is NO good:
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said and cried out in fear. Matthew 14:26
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
So we see here that fear is a spirit (not the good kind) And what do we do with the "not good kind"? We cast is out and allow God to infuse us with His Love. So that we gain a sound mind.
Why then is our adversary so keen on making us afraid? Just think what we are capable of when not being afraid, intimated,
Not being afraid to venture out as Peter, walking on water. Or when confronted with demons, casting them out in the Name of Jesus. Or perhaps, not worrying where our next meal comes from but helping the poor. Not being afraid of praying for healing for the sick.....Do you get my point??
These are not fairy tale options, these are REAL options for us to chose and fulfill. Because God's love is in us, around us we can do marvelous, supernatural things. Without being afraid, we are free to love God, trust Him and let Him love us.
Before Jesus left this earth, after being resurrected, He said to His disciples: When I leave you will do greater things than what I have done......Wow, can you imagine? Greater things that than what Jesus did while being on earth?
I wonder what comes to your mind when reading the last statement? Fear? Doubt? Unbelieve? Anger? Or does it inspire courage?
Courage is the opposite of fear and this is the Word:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18
But in everything, we are not able to enter into a fearless life without the power of the Holy Spirit and the healing of our souls and hearts. Unfortunately, we are all going through difficult times and situations. Which can hinder our courage building and infuse our hearts with fear?
As Philippians 4:13 says, through Christ, we can do ALL things........
......Are you in Christ today? Would you like to live a fearless life? Accept Jesus into your heart and let Him be the Savior and Lord of your life. Turn yourself completely over to Him, even if you have accepted Christ, maybe a long time ago.
It will not be an overnight change. To become fearless takes the appropriate time. Robin Hood did not save the poor overnight.
But all of us in Christ have the ability to move from Glory to Glory in Him and become FEARLESS WARRIORS for CHRIST.
My prayer today: Father, makes us more and more like Jesus. Fearless and completely surrendered to YOU. So we become fearless and are able to see YOUR promises to us.
Be well and prosperous, until next time.
