Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures
Now this is a psalm that David created and he knew God very intimately.
There is this saying: the grass is not greener on the other side....well it depends on how we look at this phrase.
The pasture in one's life without God can be green.
Matthew 5:45 says that God sends the rain to the righteous and unrighteous.
But the difference here in this psalm is that GOD makes me lay down in green pastures. David says: "I lack nothing", then this green pasture becomes greener on the other side as the pasture of the unrighteous.
Because now, we are looking at God maintaining the green pasture, we are not lacking anything. Not only now but forever. That is not a guarantee for the unrighteous.
One of my first experience, connecting the Word of God to my everyday life happened in John 10:10.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
Wow, what a statement. I understand what it means when the thief steals in my life (satan). He had done it in the past many times without me knowing.
But then God's Word, this particular scripture came to life. I instantly knew this is what God was saying to me, personally. Wow what a "high" it produced. Studying this verse alone can take days if not weeks.
I will continue to us this blog, writing, sharing my perspective of a life in God's Greener Pastures.
So long....until next time.
