TRUTH

The work of the Holy Spirit
John 16:7-13
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Even though Jesus said He did not come to judge the world, the Holy Spirit does. It is important to read the Word of God in its fullness to understand the truth of God's Word. In this part of the scripture is clearly states that the Holy Spirit leads us into ALL TRUTH!

Often, I hear scripture taken out of context and it makes me cringe. We are so eager to bend the truth, fitting it into our little plans.

This has been a vital part in my life, to overcome. Since childhood, I had to listen to so many lies about myself and life. It seemed almost impossible to see the truth in it. Overcoming lies, is what Paul said to be important: Be transformed in your mind and be NOT transformed to this world.

Our mind will always play tricks on us if we let it. Infused by demonic lies and deceit.

John 10:10
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Problem and answer in one sentence! Jesus IS the answer to all problems!

My prayer today: Father, reveal to us the lies we believe, especially about ourselves. Forgive our ignorance, Holy Spirit: thank you for leading us into all truth.

Until next time, be well and prosperous.

Stiff necked people

Image result for cartoon of Someone reading

A few weeks ago, I found myself confronted with someone's opinion about this blog. This reader said: "Your blog is self centered and irrelevant."
Wow, this reader really missed the point completely.  But I do understand.

I found the phrase stiff necked  9 times in the Bible. Mostly in the Old Testament. Unrealistic was one synonym, pigheaded another.

I wonder how many times people read the Bible thinking it is irrelevant? It proves that without the understanding of the Holy Spirit, we don't really understand it. The Holy Spirit is the power of God to help us understand what God is saying to the church. And what He is saying to 'us' personally.

We have to be surrendered to God every day, not just that one time when we received Christ as Lord and Savior in order to receive the benefit of the Holy Spirit.

So my prayer today: Lord, never let me (us) be a stiff necked people EVER! Lead me (us) by Your Holy Spirit into understanding and Your wisdom.

Until next time, may the peace of God surround you.

Be still my soul

Truly, my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation! Psalm 62:1

My soul/heart is at peace this morning, because:
-He has been healing it.
-He has been faithful to me......

.....This is one of the most important ways to gain trust, when our ability to trust has been distorted by the enemy. God knows how to heal our broken soul/heart. He can put it back together again.

God puts a great emphasis on us keeping our oath/promise made. So, that we do not participate in the enemy's plan to undermine our ability to trust God. When we cannot trust men, we often don't trust God.

David in his psalms often quotes the condition of his soul and the importance of waiting on God's deliverance from dire circumstances. The enemy is after our soul, but if our soul prospers in God's ways for us, then everything else will prosper in our lives too.

My prayer today is, that I (we) declare to wait silently [in my (our) soul/heart] for God; my (our) salvation comes from Him alone.

My suggestion for a great song to listen to:
Rita Springer (Gateway Worship)  Every battle
This song is a declaration and gives great comfort.

Friends, this is all for today. Remember to leave your prayer request in the comment section. Farewell until next time.
